Description

You are bidding on a NICE example of a WW2 Imperial Japanese Army Radio Transmitter, as ONLY used with the Type 94-5 Radio Wireless Station! This item was brought back by a US serviceman. The Type 94-5 was considered the Company and Battalion level radio set. The Battalion signal company would send a radio team down to each company to provide communication back to the battalion. The battalion also used these sets to stay in touch with regimental headquarters. The set was transported in two chests, with one of the chests containing the transmitter, the receiver and the accessory bag. This station is made up of a receiver, a transmitter, a hand cranked generator and related accessories. The transmitter is a small, one tube set, powered by a hand cranked generator.Made of steel, aluminum, bakelite and leather, this receiver is in EXCELLENT used condition! The case is VERY SOLID, but does feature some wear and chips due to the age. The leather is still quite soft, however some of the leather is splitting slightly at the rivets. All leather ties are present, apart from one. The radio itself is 100% complete with no missing parts, but due to corrosion from storage, I have not attempted to disassemble. The data plates are 100% intact, and indicate a manufacture date of June 1934. Also has a prominent warning label indicating, 'Army Top Secret'. I am not sure if it is functional, so I am selling it as-is. A VERY RARE item not normally seen on the market, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
