Pre-WW1 Kaiser Wilhelm Remembrance Medal

This is an original medal plate (only the medal, without ribbon) of theKaiser Wilhelm Erinnerungsmedaille, also known as the Centenary Medal (Zentenarmedaille), issued in 1897 to commemorate the 100th birthday of Emperor Wilhelm I, born in 1797. This medal was awarded by Wilhelm II to all living military personnel and civil servants who had served under Wilhelm I during his reign as King of Prussia (1861–1888) and later as Emperor of Germany (1871–1888).
