Description
WWII German Model 1935 Luftwaffe Camouflage Helmet, Named-This interesting example started life as a double decal parade helmet with a blue gray finish. At some point the exterior was camouflaged with a tropical tan, sawdust camo. This finish remains 40% intact. The inner skirt is finished in tropical tan without sawdust. The size stamped 59 brown leather liner is very soft, with minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a drawstring and a reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1939 and size stamped 66/59. The side of the interior is stamped ET 66 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 66. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 4105. There are initials written onto the liner, MH. The rear skirt has a painted name that reads Hartenfels. There is a partially intact brown leather chinstrap. A very interesting example!
