Scarce WWII SAAF Pilot Tunic. SAAF Padded Pilot Wing detachable with poppers. One small moth nip to the right side above the pocket, note only two pips to the shoulder rank. Leather lanyard to the shoulder. Overall in good condition with age and service wear.Captain Robert Ashdown DFC, joined up in 1941 and on completion of flying training was posted to 16 Squadron SAAF in Eygpt flying Bristol Beaufighters.Comes with copies of his service record and DFC gazette for August 1945.
