Third Reich Senior Forestry Cutlass-Hörster

An excellent example of the wartime produced aluminium alloy cutlass having an eagle and swastica cast into the ferrule. 90% gilding remains to the knuckle bow, crossguard and clamshell which features a baying stag. Triple etched blade has fine hunting and floral scenes and a stamped 'Hörster ' trademark to the ricasso. A green felt washer remains beneath the crossguard. Ivory grip has oak leaf and acorn depictions to the obverse, and the usual studs to the reverse.Scabbard leather features twin decorative lines to the obverse and a prominent seam to the reverse. Scabbard fittings are in fine condition and retain their fixing screws.Excellent opportunity to obtain a rare wartime produced cutlass with eagle and swastica ferrule.
