Description

German WWII Experimental Protective Helmet for Heer Assault Gun Personnel-This is the rarest of all the protective wool helmets of the Wehrmacht. This is far rarer than a SS panzer beret. This is definitely missing from 99.9% of collections. This helmet is one of only a few examples known to exist. It is an experimental example that was made in 1940 as a protective headgear for self propelled assault gun crews. This is set up with an oval cap with seven padded panels attached to two oval bands. These are covered in field green/gray wool. This has a very early BeVo eagle, wreath and cockade hand applied to the front panel. This has a helmet style liner of green leather with perforated vents and drawstring. This is stamped size 55. The green leather chinstrap with metal buckles. Please make sure to see that there one small hole on the left side band. There is very light wear to the liner. This is one of those once in a lifetime offerings! Please take a look at thephotos, just so you can say you have seen one of these!
