German WWII Political Leader Visor Cap (Orts Level)-This is a gorgeous example of a political leader's visor cap for a leader in the ORTS level of government, which means it is piped in blue. Remember there were four levels of the NSDAP Political government, similar to how we have things today in the states. There is the local level (towns and cities) which is called ORTS, The KREIS orKreisleitunglevel which is Districts or German counties. The GAU orGauleitungwhich is the Regional level (German states and their provinces). REICH is thenationalgovernment similar to our Federal Govt. level. This is blue piped for ORTS level. The piping is a light blue color and some very slight moth damage. This cap has a beautiful saddle shape and the exterior and the brown center band is damage free, as is the beautiful celleon officer's chin cord. The beautifully gold gilted finish on the eagle has a very nice tone, with the original finish is mostly intact. The gilt finish on the stylized wreath has a nice matte gold tone to match the eagle.This wreath has beautiful detailing. The enameled cockade is in very good condition. The dark brown visor has been reinforced to the cap by a collector, (not us), and you can see the stitching on the underside. The underside of the vuklanfibre visor shows crosshatching. The interior of this size 57 cap has a complete moisture shield, and a mostly complete sweatband. The sweatband is fragile, so be careful with it. There is anoil cloth RZM tag under the sweatband. There is a name on a tag that is inserted into the moisture shield, so this is nicely personalized. A very good offering.
