1914 -1919 Voluntary Aid Detachment Middlesex VAD War Service tribute badge

A scarce original post First World War period impressive patriotic red white and blue enamel tribute pin badge, in the form of a gilt blue title circlet 'Voluntary Aid Detachment Middlesex' the top displaced by the County Arms red shield bearing Saxon crown and three seaxes and 'War Service' scroll; the central blue disc inscribed 'FREE SERVICES RENDERED DURING THE GREAT WAR 1914 .1919' on convex white enamel ground. Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains bright.Height approx 38mm.
