WW1 Ruston Company Lincoln 1915 On War Service Badge

A scarce original First World War period 'Ruston Lincoln 1915 On War Supplies identification badge' gilt brass example in the form of a blue enamel title surround, the white enamel centre inscribed 'RUSTON LINCOLN'; the reverse impressed with early maker's details 'VAUGHTONS BIRMINGHAM'. Very good condition, complete with original buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel.Diameter approx 29mm.The Ruston Company is best known as a manufacturer of Diesel Engine Steam engines and diesel locomotives, during the First World War the Company produced some of the first tanks and a number of aircraft notably the Sopwith Camel.
