Description
You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe 3rd Model 1940s Junghans Clock, Fl. 23885! This type was used in aircraft such as the Me109, Fw190, Me110, Me262, and many others!Mounted on the main instrument panel, this clock needs no introduction. It was made famous throughout the war as the standard German Aircraft Cockpit Clock. It was usually mounted on the front or side cockpit consoles and features a chronometer, adjustable bezel, and a 30-minute timer.Made of aluminum, brass, and steel, with a bakelite bezel, this 3rd model Junghans clock is in EXCELLENT used condition! It retains 95% of its original early BLACK surface paint (pre-1940 cockpit colour), and features the screw on back. Some light marks and scratches throughout from age, but nothing that take away from the overall appearance. The data label is still present on the reverse, and the dial still glows at night (must be charged with UV light)! Some paint missing from the dial, but nothing that detracts. 100% completeβ¦howeverβ¦it is currently NOT FUNCTIONAL. It appears the balance staff is broken, so it would need to be repalced/serviced. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, panel re-build, or restoration project!
