Completely INERT, this was used in conjunction with the Type 96 Anti-Tank / Anti-Aircraft Cannon!The Type 96 25mm Cannon (九六式二十五粍高角機銃, Kyūroku-shiki nijyūgo-miri Kōkakukijū) was the standard light anti-aircraft weapon of the Imperial Japanese Navy and was mounted extensively on destroyers, cruisers, carriers, and coastal defense installations throughout the Second World War. Adopted in the mid-1930s and produced in large quantities, the Type 96 became the primary close-in anti-aircraft defense system of Japanese naval vessels during the Pacific War.Made of brass, this is a FANTASTIC piece of history! Completely inert, there are some very slight wear and marks, however it remains VERY SOLID with much of the original finish! Various marking throughout, including a prominent Navy Anchor on the base.Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
