Completely INERT, this was used in conjunction with the Type 96 Anti-Tank / Anti-Aircraft Cannon!The Type 96 25mm Cannon (九六式二十五粍高角機銃, Kyūroku-shiki nijyūgo-miri Kōkakukijū) was the standard light anti-aircraft weapon of the Imperial Japanese Navy and was mounted extensively on destroyers, cruisers, carriers, and coastal defense installations throughout the Second World War. Adopted in the mid-1930s and produced in large quantities, the Type 96 became the primary close-in anti-aircraft defense system of Japanese naval vessels during the Pacific War.Made of brass and steel, this is a FANTASTIC piece of history! Completely inert, there are some very slight wear and marks, however it remains VERY SOLID with much of the original paint and finish! Various marking throughout, including a prominent Navy Anchor on the base.Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
