Description
Attractive and historically interesting group consisting of a Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz with matching award document (Besitzzeugnis) and a late-war 'Heimatschein' / return-to-home document to Wachtmeister Erich Leiber. The wound badge document is dated 1 April 1945 for a wound received on 18 February 1945, and the Feldpost number L 62712 confirms service with Fallschirm-Artillerie-Regiment 7 of the 7. Fallschirm-Jäger-Division. This division was formed in October 1944 and saw heavy fighting on the Westfront, including the Maas bridgehead around Venlo, the Reichswald battles near Kleve, Goch and Gennep, and the later withdrawal battles toward the Rhine and into northern Germany. The badge shows honest wear with much of its dark finish remaining, matching the late-war character of the set. Westfront items from the Netherlands and German-Dutch border area are particularly sought after, making this a desirable and well-researched Fallschirmjäger related grouping with clear unit attribution and strong historical context.
