A very attractiveIron Cross 1st Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse) 1939by Schauerte & Höhfeld, Lüdenscheid, executed in classic three-piece construction with magnetic iron core and a neatly soldered-on pin set-up. The cross retains much of its original finish, showing only minor and honest paint loss to the swastika and the '1939' date, consistent with light wear. The frame remains crisp with sharp beading and pleasing patina, while the reverse clearly displays the LDO maker mark 'L/54' beneath the catch, confirming production by this respected maker. The hardware is tight, fully functional, and original to the piece. Free from repairs, damage, or alterations, this is a very good, untouched example with excellent eye appeal — a good looking and desirable cross for any serious collection.
