Third Reich Municipal Police Officers Bayonet-WKC

This police bayonet is in very nice condition throughout and is the type that has the mortise button with rifle slot. The eagle head silhouette pommel is in fine condition with much enhancement to the feathering. Grip plates are not the ' cut down ' types and are attached with dome headed rivets. Minor loss of finish to the backstrap but no signs of misuse. The grip insignia is the aluminum open style showing no wear at all featuring the open wing police eagle clutching a wreathed swastika superimposed over a wreath of oak leaves. Plated blade in mint condition having the 'Knights Head' logo to the reverse ricasso and a brown leather blade washer. The scabbard has very fine black leather featuring the two lines on each side that run down the length of the edges and sewn up the rear. The nickel scabbard mounts are in excellent condition having scalloped edges, and with numbers visible beneath the staples.Fine example.
