German Marble Memorial Plaque for Fallen Soldier-This black marble memorial plaque measures 10 inches (25.4cm) tall by 11 inches (27.94cm) in width. It is quite thin, approx. ¼ of an inch (6.3mm) thin. It features a Stahlhelm and sword at the top, with oak leaves. The dedication is quite sad, and reads 'In constant memory of our dear son and brother Robert Scheffelmeier born 1920 in Bessarabia died 1942 in Russia'.The reverse of this plague is ribbed, and I believe this could have been cemented to a memorial wall or something similar. There is a bolt hole just below the helmet for securing this as well. A sad but interesting collectible in very good condition.
