Veteran Bring Back Souvenir Hitler Stationary-This is a great display. This one comes directly from Bill's personal collection. Sgt. Schaller entered Hitler's apartment on the 2ndof May, which was just 24 hours after the city was occupied. Can you imagine the things they found there. Sgt. Schaller wasted no time in grabbing a piece of Hitler's personal stationary. You can read the text he put on the stationary. This was then mounted into a large gold frame with a bright red matte. On the left you see a colorful image of Hitler waving to the crowd, in a car. This is a popular image that was used as a telegram sheet cover, by the German Reichspost, and could be purchased from them, for special occasions like weddings or birthdays. This one has been matted in the same red matte as the stationary. The stationary and telegram cover measures 12 ½ inches (31.75 cm) long and 9 ¼ inches (23.49cm) wide (with the matte). The large glass covered frame measures 27 inches (68.58cm)long by 19 ½ inches (49.53 cm) wide, with a 2 ½ inch (6.35 cm) gold painted wooden frame. This frame is backed in brown paper, and there is a hanger on the reverse. This is in near excellent condition, and quite the display item. One of a kind for sure.
