German WWII Signed Photo of Knights Cross Winner Franz Pfeiffer-Pfeiffer was a highly decorated Oberst in the Wehrmacht during WWII. He was a recipient of theKnights Cross while serving as aHauptmann(Captain) in theGebirgsjäger(mountain troops). He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, likely while commanding a company in Gebirgsjäger Regiment 100 of the 5. Gebirgs-Division. Pfeiffer was born in 1907 and died in 1994 at the age of 87. This black and white photo of a young Pfeiffer is signed in blue ink at the bottom. There is also a penciled name written on the reverse. This photos measures 5 ½ inches (13.97cm) tall and 3 ½ inches (8.89cm) wide. It is in excellent condition.
