German WWII Signed Photo of Knights Cross Winner Josef Niemietz-Niemietz was a highly decorated GermanHauptfeldwebelin the Wehrmacht during World War II, awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 24 July 1943. He earned this for distinguished bravery and leadership as a platoon leader in 3. Kompanie, Panzerjäger-Abteilung 332, particularly during anti-aircraft and ground support actions. He served in the Heer, specifically with Panzerjäger-Abteilung 332. He was a key figure in Panzer-Jäger-AbteilungInfanterie-Division. In addition to the Knight's Cross, he held the German Cross in Gold, Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class, Wound Badge in Black, General Assault Badge, and the Kuban Shield. He passed away in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, on 13 March 2001 just before his 87thbirthday. This card measures 6 inches (15.24cm) tall and 4 inches (10.16 cm) wide. It is not signed on the front, but there is a nice note, signature and date of 1981 on the reverse. This is in excellent condition.
