Description

You are bidding on an EXCELLENT example of an original WW2 Imperial Japanese Army Type 94 75mm Mountain Gun Shell Casing and Display Round! The Type 94 75mm Mountain Gun was introduced in 1934 and became one of the primary light artillery pieces used by the Imperial Japanese Army throughout the Second World War. Designed for mobility in rugged terrain, it was widely deployed in China and across the Pacific theatre. The 75Γ—185R cartridge case was shared with earlier mountain gun patterns but remained in production for Type 94 service during the war years.Made of brass, this 75Γ—185R Shell Casing for the Type 94 Mountain Gun is in VERY NICE used condition! Completely inert, the headstamp is CLEAR and fully readable, showing 'Showa 18', which corresponds to 1943 production. Condition is very nice overall, with a strong dark brass patina and only normal handling and age wear. There are NO cracks dents, or corrosion beyond normal patina. The projectile and fuze appear to be later display or reproduction components used to complete the round for presentation (unmarked and consistent with machined display construction), while the casing itself is original wartime manufacture. This is a clean, solid, and highly displayable wartime dated Imperial Japanese 75mm mountain gun shell casing ideal for advanced WWII ordnance collections!
