Description

Very interesting and fully wartime-used Luftwaffe Soldbuch issued to Hans Derbach, covering his complete military service from 1940 until the end of the war. The Soldbuch is the early brown cover type with Luftwaffe eagle and shows honest service wear consistent with long field use. Derbach initially served with the Luftwaffe and was assigned to Jagdfliegerschule 5 (2. Staffel), indicating training within a fighter pilot school. Entries further show service connected to airfields in Paris and Frankfurt. The book contains numerous official stamps, signatures, vaccination records, equipment entries, blood group marking (A), and several unit changes and promotions, clearly documenting an active and evolving wartime career.Due to aircraft shortages and Luftwaffe restructuring, Derbach was later transferred into the ranks of a Luftwaffe Field Division, serving with Luftwaffen-Jäger-Regiment 27, formed at the end of 1942 in Norway as part of the 14. Luftwaffen-Feld-Division. The regiment was deployed to Norway in January 1943, served as occupation troops, and was taken over by the Heer on 1 November 1943, remaining in Norway until the end of the war. Included with the Soldbuch is his original Certificate of Demobilisation / Certificate of Discharge issued after captivity, making this a rare and highly desirable Luftwaffe Field Division combat-related grouping that bridges flight training, ground combat service, and post-war POW documentation in one complete and researchable set.
