German WWII Christmas Card 1942, 17th Infantry Division

Original period manufacture. Unit made card mailed by a soldier to Fraulein Liselotte Galtz prior to Christmas 1942. The large eagle on the obverse sits on a shield displaying the unit emblem of the 17th Infantry Division. Christmas 1942 the division was stationed in France during a rest-refit after campaigning in Russia.
