Description
Original porcelainJulteller(Julfest plate) produced by the Meissen manufactory during the Third Reich period. This particular example is the rarer wartime variant, incorporating explicit military symbolism. The central underglaze blue composition depicts a mother and child before a glowing Germanic sun wheel (Sonnenrad), framed by fir branches. Above them appears a dramatic projection of German military strength, including a battleship, barrage balloon, bomber aircraft, anti-aircraft gun (Flak), tank, parachutist, and advancing infantry. The imagery clearly reflects the wartime atmosphere and propaganda themes of national unity, sacrifice, and total mobilisation. Executed in classic Meissen underglaze blue on white porcelain. The reverse bears the correct blue crossed swords mark of the Meissen manufactory and retains its original hanging device. The impressed model number 'N 117' is visible to the reverse. Diameter approximately 25.5 cm. Condition is very good, with only minor age-related wear. No cracks or repairs observed.
