Imperial Bayonet Issued to the R.F.V.-Hörster

This is an unusual piece being marked on the reverse crossguard as being property of the R.F.V. , or Reichsfinanzministerium, the ministry of finance for the German empire between 1919 and 1945.Grip plates are fine, early chequered Bakelite secured by nuts and screws. Operating push button, blade marked to E & F Hörster on both obverse and reverse. Heavy sharpening to the blade edge. Blued scabbard in fine condition with minor loss of finish and rusting.Hard to find weapons with R.F.V. markings.
