Distinctive insignia of the Army Service Forces.The Army Service Forces (ASF) were one of the three autonomous components of the Army of the United States during World War II, alongside the Army Ground Forces and the Army Air Forces. The ASF were created on February 28, 1942 by Executive Order 9082 and War Department Circular No. 59 (March 2, 1942). They were responsible for logistics, supply, transportation, medical services, engineering, maintenance and overall support for combat units worldwide.Second World War period, fully embroidered example with typical WWII construction.
