Description
Original period manufacture.Standard late WWII produced M1 steel helmet, front seam with a non-reflective edge. Swivel chinstraploops with original sewn light OD canvas straps with darkened brass fittings. Covering the helmet is a second patternUSMC camouflage helmet cover with foliage slits and a very faintly stenciled (or better said, faded)USMC EGA emblem in black. The liner is a WWII produced plastic liner, Westinghouse manufacture, with light OD webbing, original sweatband and a non-adjustable nape strap. An original brown leather liner strap with a black finished adjusting buckle is intact. The best part about this helmet is the wonderful patina from wear and service use it displays. The cover fits the helmet perfectly, with heavy rust staining on the interior and wear around the edges of the helmet rim with corresponding heavy rust patina to the steel edge. This guy is Salty, a great helmet and one of those relics you wish could talk...
