Description

German WWII M24 1940 Potato Masher INERT Grenade-This is a handsome example of a Stielhandgranate. The green finish on the steel head is 95% in place. The head is well marked RR513 and dated 40. There is a nice stencil on the side, in white paint that reads 'Vor Gebrauch sprengkapsel einsetzen' this is to remind soldiers to insert the fuse before use. This literally translates to 'Before use insert detonator'.The solid wooden stick is in very good condition. It is also marked RR513 and dated 1940 as well. The lower screw cap retains its light green finish, the string is gone, but the donut is in place under the cap. This is a very sound example that would look great in your display.
