WW2 German Wehrmacht Zeltbahn 31 – SPLINTER CAMO SHELTER QUARTER – UNIT MARKED!

You are bidding on a VERY NICE used example of an original WW2 German Wehrmacht Zeltbahn 31 Shelter Quarter! This is in the classic Splinter Camouflage Pattern, is not only NAMED, but also features a PROMINENT Unit Marking!The Zeltbahn 31 was introduced in the early 1930s and became one of the most recognizable pieces of German field equipment during the war. The distinctive splinter camouflage pattern with vertical 'rain streak' lines was specifically designed to break up the soldier's silhouette in wooded environments and became the foundation for many later German camouflage designs. These triangular shelter halves were issued to German soldiers and could be worn as a camouflage poncho, used individually as a field shelter, or buttoned together with other Zeltbahns to form larger tents and shelters in the field.Infantry Regiment 115 was part of the 33. Infanterie-Division, later reorganized into Schützen-Regiment 115 of the 15. Panzer-Division. It took part in the 1940 campaign in the west, advancing through Luxembourg and into France with Panzergruppe Kleist's sector.In November 1940, the 33. Infanterie-Division was converted into the 15. Panzer-Division, and Infanterie-Regiment 115 became Schützen-Regiment 115.Schützen-Regiment 115 then went on to serve with the 15. Panzer-Division, including in North Africa, and later the lineage continued as Panzergrenadier-Regiment 115.Made of water-proofed cotton/rayon, this reversible Zeltbahn is in GOOD used condition! It features the standard splinter pattern camouflage, that consists of shades of tans, green, and brown. As this was used in combat, the colors have faded slightly…however…it features a strong, '13./JR 115' unit marking for Infantry Regiment 115; as well as a hand-written name and initials! There are a couple of the aluminum buttons missing, and features some various patches and field repairs throughout. The original steel grommets are also present.Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
