Description
Hard to find original German 6Γ30 service binoculars manufactured in distinctive reddish-brown Bakelite, a material increasingly used during the later war years as a substitute for metal. Bakelite binoculars were produced in limited numbers and are today much scarcer than the standard metal-bodied examples. The binoculars are clearly marked 'cxn', the wartime manufacturer code for Emil Busch A.G., Rathenow, one of the well-known German optical manufacturers supplying equipment to the Wehrmacht during the Second World War. The right prism housing is additionally marked '6Γ30', indicating the magnification and lens size. The Bakelite body remains in excellent condition, retaining its attractive marbled reddish coloration with only minor signs of handling and age. The optics are clear, functional and sharp, making the binoculars not only a collectible piece but still perfectly usable. The central hinge retains its original fittings and shows typical honest wear from use.The binoculars come complete with their original leather carrying strap, which remains firmly attached and in good condition.A scarce and attractive example of wartime Bakelite binoculars, produced by the respected Emil Busch factory and representing an increasingly sought-after variant among collectors of German WW2 optical equipment.
