Description
Original Second World War German Kriegsmarine international signal flag, representing the signal flag 'N' (November) from the International Code of Signals. This system of flags was used by naval vessels worldwide to communicate visually between ships or with harbor authorities. The flag displays the characteristic blue and white checkered pattern corresponding to the letter N, which in the international signal code means 'No' or 'Negative.' The hoist edge retains several original wartime markings including 'Sfl. N internat. 50×60 Gr.1', indicatingSignalflagge N, international pattern, size 50 × 60 cm, size 1. The flag is additionally stamped with a Kriegsmarine acceptance stamp and a maker mark 'P&Co.' The flag remains complete with its original hoist rope and metal attachment clips, used for raising the flag aboard naval vessels. The reinforced stitched corners and hoist construction are typical for wartime naval signal flags. The colors remain well preserved and the flag shows only light signs of age and storage. A very nice and authentic Kriegsmarine naval signal flag, representing the visual communication system used aboard German naval vessels during the Second World War.
