Description
Von Buttlar Brandenfels Zepeline Gegen England-This original German language book containsmemoirs of a German naval airship commander. Baron Horst Treusch von Buttlar-Brandenfels (1888-1962) captained several Zeppelins during the First World War, including the first one to cross the English coast and the 'Super Zeppelin' L30, the largest and fastest airship constructed up to that time. This commander participated in 19 raids on England and was the only airship officer decorated with the order Pour le Mérite. This volume recounts his full experiences of the war, beginning with his training in October 1913, and ending with the scuttling of the fleet at the end of hostilities. This book is a hardcover with a blue linen cover that is faded. The spine is damaged. We have the spine (included), so you can possibly do a repair if you are so inclined. Despite the spine damage, the book is in good, yet delicate shape otherwise. It contains 215 pages, with several very cool black and white photos of zeppelins. It contains a forward by Vice Admiral Adolf von Trotha.
