French M1874 Gras Bayonet, Navy Marked, 1883

Original period manufacture. Standard issue 1874 Gras bayonet but with an anchor proof on the obverse of the guard. The blade shows a mix of steel polish and patina with some light cleaned pitting on the spine. Dark wood grips with a polished brass pommel and working lock button. The dent-free scabbard has a light dusting of surface corrosion but overall a mix of blue finish and steel patina.
