Here is an original WWII American Home Guard cap Badge. Screw back maker marked JR Gaunt London and in good condition. One prong missing.The 1st American Squadron of the Home Guard was a voluntary unit formed in London around 1940, comprised of American citizens living in Britain who chose to stay despite evacuation advice. Commanded by individuals like General Hayes, this group was armed with rifles (including Winchester 1907s) to support British defense against invasion.
