WW2 German Wehrmacht – TROPICAL CANVAS COMBAT RUCKSACK – NICE!

You are bidding on a VERY NICE used example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht TROPICAL Combat Rucksack / Backpack, as used by all German military personnel throughout the war!The M34 and M39 Tornister 'Pony Fur' Backpack (based on the earlier Prussian Back Pack), was introduced in November 1934.As they became too expensive and far too time consuming to produce, a more economical and less expensive canvas type rucksack was introduced.In late 1940 with the impending German entrance into the North African campaign the standard leather carrying harness straps on the assorted rucksacks and backpacks were altered to canvas web straps for longer wear in the tropical climate.Made of Tan Canvas and Cotton Web, this rucksack is in NICE used condition! Some slight marks from storage, but nothing that detracts. It features fabric straps with aluminum and steel hardware/buckles. A few holes from wear and use. Though only one shoulder strap is shown, I have BOTH original straps (the 2nd one missed the photos). Has a very faint manufacture stamp, along with a date of 1941. Would make anEXCELLENT addition to any collection or display!
