Original Pre 1940 Dutch army 'Bereden' Gas mask in bag

Original Dutch army gas mask for mounted troops dating from the pre-1940 period.This type of gas mask was issued to soldiers of the Dutch army and specifically intended for mounted units such as cavalry.The mask is made from green rubber with round viewing lenses and a metal filter canister connected by a flexible hose.The set comes with its original canvas carrying bag, used to transport the mask during service.The bag remains in used condition and shows normal signs of age and military use consistent with equipment from this period.The shoulder strap of the bag is missing, which can be seen at the attachment points on the bag.Despite this, the set remains an attractive and historical piece of Dutch military equipment from the years just before the Second World War.A desirable collectible for collectors of Dutch army equipment, pre-WWII militaria and military gas masks.
