Description
You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of an original WW2 German Luftwaffe Kühlerklappe Radiator Flap, as ONLY used on the Jumo 213 Aircraft Engine! This was heavily used in the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9 & Ta152!The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9 'Dora' was a late war development of the famous Fw 190 series, powered by the Junkers Jumo 213 inline engine. This engine utilized an annular radiator system with multiple adjustable cooling flaps mounted around the radiator housing to regulate airflow and engine temperature. These radiator flaps opened and closed in sequence depending on engine cooling requirements and were essential to maintaining proper operating temperatures during all phases of flight.Made of aluminum and steel, this Radiator Flap is in SUPERB condition for its age! Retaining approximately 95% of its ORIGINAL RLM 74 Dark Grey Finish, the flap is COMPLETELY STRAIGHT with no bends, cracks, or repairs! Features some very light surface wear and scratches, but nothing that detracts. It retains a hand-inscribed '10' marking, likely indicating its position within the radiator assembly, which is consistent with known German manufacturing and maintenance practices. No acceptance stamps or part numbers are present, which is not uncommon for components of this type. The hinge structure remains intact, as well as the mount for the actuator arms and linkage. Measuring approximately 10″x10″, I have shown its location in the last images. A VERY NICE and ORIGINAL example of a Jumo213 radiator flap as used on the iconic Fw190 D-9 'Dora,' and far superior to typical recovered examples due to its outstanding preserved finish and condition. PERFECT for any collection or display!
