Description
You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of 100% original WW2 German LuftwaffeTragfläche Wartungsklappe Wing Panel,as recovered from a Messerschmitt Bf110 Heavy Fighter! Though I do not have any detailed history, this SPECIFIC Wing Panel originates from the well-known, Me110 C-1 W.Nr. 2167!The Messerschmitt Bf110 was the Luftwaffe's twin engine heavy fighter used extensively throughout the early and mid-war period in a variety of roles including escort, ground attack, and night fighting. Aircraft of this type saw heavy use during the campaigns in Poland, France, and the Battle of Britain. Wing panels and access hatches of this type were removable sections fitted to the underside of the wing, allowing ground crews access to internal systems such as control linkages, fuel lines, and structural components for maintenance and inspection.Made of aluminum example is in EXCELLENT reic condition! Rectangular in shape, it remains STRUCTURALLY SOLID with all ORIGINAL mounting holes present and no corrosion to the aluminum itself! As expected from a genuine wreck recovered relic, the exterior finish shows paint loss, dirt, oxidation, and surface wear, but the panel itself remains sound. Traces of the original Black/White Balkencross can easily be identified, and thereverse features clearly visible hand painted identification numbers, indicating:B.F.110W.N. 2167RThe Date Plate indicates:BF 110 C1110-10.59-37Measuring approx. 15″ x 28″ in size, I have shown this EXACT panel location in the last image. Overall this is a VERY NICE and VERY RARE identified Luftwaffe airframe relic from a specifically documented Bf110, rather than a generic aircraft fragment. A STUNNING aircraft collectible, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
