Uniform of U.S. Army Lieutenant General Robert L. Moore

The uniform is comprised of the very high quality tunic, matching trousers, necktie, and overseas cap. The tunic has three stars on each shoulder and on the left shoulder is the patch of theU.S. Army Materiel Command. Ribbons above the upper left pocket include the Army Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit with three oak leaf clusters, and the Vietnam Service Medal with two campaign stars. The overseas cap displays gold bullion piping and the three stars of a Lieutenant General. Overall the unit is in excellent condition. General Moore's obituary in 'The Washington Post' included the following:'Commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, in his 33 years of service to the Army [General Moore] advanced through grades to Lieutenant General earning the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Army General Staff Badge, and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Among his key assignments, he commanded the 87th Engineer Battalion in Vietnam; was the District Engineer, Corps of Engineers District in Buffalo; commanded the Division Support Command, 2nd Infantry Division Korea; was the Division Engineer for the North Central Division in Chicago; he also served as the Chief of Staff of AMC; was the Commanding General of the Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal; and was Deputy Commanding General for Research, Development and Acquisition for AMC [theU.S. Army Materiel Command]'.
