Eastern front medal by Rudolf Karneth & Söhne, Gablonz. Copper coated, zinc construction. Maker marked with the Karneth PK number '61' in the ring. Excellent to MINT condition with all of the silver finish on the helmet and the rim remaining. The medal comes with a piece of original ribbon. No damage nor repairs.Beautiful high quality piece with copper undercoating!!The Eastern Medal was awarded to any member of the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS in recognition of probation in the struggle against the Bolshevik enemy and the Russian winter within the period from 15 November 1941 to 15 April 1942. It was also awarded posthumously to any service member who died in the line of duty within the Soviet Union.
