Waffen-SS 'Blue' steel belt buckle by RODO

A very attractive and textbook example of an original SS belt buckle, manufactured by 'RODO,' the mark of Robert Dold of Offenberg. This is a classic steel-constructed buckle, exactly as expected for wartime production, showing all the correct features associated with this maker.The buckle shows clear signs of wear, with most of the original finish on the exterior now worn away, which is commonly seen on these steel examples. However, the details remain crisp, with the SS eagle and the motto 'Meine Ehre heißt Treue' still sharply defined. On the reverse, the buckle retains visible original paint, and notably this example features the highly sought-after blue finish, a rare variant compared to the more commonly encountered green paint.Typical RODO characteristics are present, including the distinctive hinge with its large domed rivet and the characteristic catch with its slightly angled prong. The buckle is clearly marked 'RODO' on the reverse, confirming its authenticity.
