Description
Very interesting post-war (ca.1949) reissued German M40 steel helmet for the Norwegian army. These helmets are getting hard to find as collectors use to strip the paint down and use them for parts and restoration of WW2 helmet. Many German helmets were bought/confiscated by the Norwegians after the war, the helmets were issued to their army. All helmets were repainted in grass green color and new decals were applied. The leather parts were dyed red/brown. This helmet remains complete with the genuine liner (1940 dated) and chin strap (1942). The helmet is also complete with its army issued camouflage net (see attached pictures from textbook). A very nice Norwegian helmet! Marked ET64 – 1371.
