MINT M35 factory reissued Army – SS no decal steel helmet SE64

A stunning and textbook example of a factory reissued M35 steel helmet, originally produced in the late 1930s and later reissued by the Germans during the war. As was common practice, equipment was never discarded, and this helmet was returned to a factory where it was completely stripped and refinished around 1943. It now features the characteristic rough, textured field-grey paint, applied both inside and outside, reflecting the wartime shift toward a more matte, non-reflective finish.Due to this complete repaint, the shell markings are difficult to read, though the maker and size can still be identified as SE64. The lot number at the rear is faint and appears to end in 19. A particularly interesting feature of this reissued example is that it retains its original liner, rather than being fitted with a replacement. The liner is dated 1939 and is of the reinforced aluminium type, with the leather remaining in very good condition, still soft and supple, and complete with its original drawstring. The initials 'FS' are visible on the rear of the leather, adding a personal touch to the piece.The helmet also retains its original chinstrap, marked Voegels, Köln and dated 1940, with the buckle still showing its matte grey finish. The split pins remain untouched, and the overall condition is exceptional, approaching near unissued. This example is a no decal helmet, which makes it especially versatile for collectors, as it can represent use across all Wehrmacht branches, including Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, or even SS. A top-tier and highly desirable reissued helmet, combining early-war components with a classic mid-war factory refurbishment, making it a standout piece for any advanced collection.
