Description
Luftwaffe M38 single decal tan camouflaged Fallschirmjäger helmet, shell stamped ET68, readable lot number digits are 77, spanner type bolts, the helmet's factory finish is uniformly over sprayed in a deep tan color with no large areas of missing paint, the helmet was stacked at one time and camo coverage is about 90% to include the bolts which have not been molested, the camo paint covers the decal area but the outline of the Luftwaffe eagle is plainly visible, there are the usual scratches, scrapes and scuffs to the finish, bolts all have their nuts, the tan colored leather liner shows wear from coming into contact with the head, it is stamped with sizes and maker (Karl Heisler) information, the former owner's name is inked to the liner'e edge, there is a tear between the holes at the forehead position, the leather chin harness is complete, functional and pliable, at the forehead some of the stitching holding the liner and pads to the liner bands has popped and it is a bit loose, splendid example, USD $27,500
