GVR WW1 Military Cross (MC), 1914-15 Trio with M.I.D Oakleaves & WW2 Defence & war medalsTo- 2-LIEUTB / MAJOR.G.CARR.SHROPS.L.IGeoffrey Carr was commissioned in to the 8th service battalion of the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry & first arrived in France with the battalion in 1915. He was M.I.D for services in Salonica in the London gazette 27-11-1917 & went on to be awarded the Military Cross in the London gazette 1-1-1919. He was hospitalized with Malaria in Salonica 1917 & wounded & gassed in 1918 whilst attached to the 66th brigade headquarters.He applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1921 whilst living in St Aubyns, Hove,GVF/NEF & Mounted as worn. Complete with original M.I.D certificate, photograph of the recipient in uniform & a letter of congratulations on the award of the MC. Along with MIC details, London gazette details & casualty roll details.
