German Reichswehr EM Steel Buckle-This steel buckle retains the majority of the combat green finish. This is embossed with the Heer motto GOTT MIT UNS ('God with us') surrounding a Weimar German Eagle. The design is basically the same as an early Prussian buckle, but the crown is replaced with the eagle. This design was in service from approximately 1921 to 1936, when the central Weimar eagle was replaced with the Wehrmacht Reichsadler. The design was used by both the Reichsheer (Army) and Reichsmarine (Navy). It is constructed of stamped steel, with a plain field body. It shows light wear only to the eagle on the obverse.
