Named WWI 138th Infantry Regiment, 35th Division EM/NCO Tunic

Available
$200.00

Description

The wool tunic bears 'U.S.' and infantry branch collar disks. The shoulder carries the insignia of the 138th Infantry Regiment of the 35th Division, Lower on the left sleeve are two red chevrons, perhaps originally discharge chevrons that were used on the uniform in place of a conventional corporal rank chevron. Below this is a single overseas service chevron. The interior lining bears the handwritten name of 'W.S. Pitts'. The contractor label is retained beneath the hem of the lining. The tunic shows expected signs of age, but it is without holes, damage or repairs and it is in overall very good condition.
