Description
The 10 medals are mounted for wear, and are comprised of the Médaille militaire; the Croix de Guerre with star, bearing the date of 1939; theCroix de Guerre des Théâtres d'Opérations Extérieurs ('War Cross for Foreign Operational Theatres') with star;the Croix du Combattant (Combatant's Cross); the Médaille Coloniale (Colonial Medal) with bars for 'Tunisie' and 'Extrême-Orient'; the Médaille Commémorative des Opérations de Sécurité et de Maintien de l'ordre en Afrique du Nord (Commemorative Medal for Security Operations in North Africa) with an 'Algérie' bar; the 1939–1945 Commemorative War Medal with the bar 'Afrique'; theFrench Colonial Medal with the bars 'Tunisie' and 'Extrême-Orient' (Far East); the French North Africa Security and Order Operations Commemorative Medal, with bar 'Algerie'; the Indochina Campaign Commemorative Medal; the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Meda in silver; and the Union des Anciens Combattants (U.N.C.) veterans medal, which is not mounted with the other nine medals but which was pinned to the reverse of the ribbons of the medals. Affixed to the top of the medals bar is a small enameled insignia of the FrenchForeig Legion, a grenade with seven flames in red and green. The medals show wear and age, but overall the group is in very good condition.
