Description

The uniform group is comprised of the enlisted ranks tunic; riding breeches; fabric belt; boots; Chapka helmet; and the golden fabric helmet cords. The red and black wool tunic shows expected signs of age, with surface dust and some areas of fading, but the tunic is without holes, damage or repairs. One front upper button is detached but it remains pinned to the tunic. The interior retains the remnants of an issue tag, while the interior sleeves are stamped 'Property of S.S. A.F.A.'. The wool riding breeches similarly show age, but they are without damage and they retain most all of a exterior issue tag. The uniform set further includes the fabric belt and the golden yellow helmet cords. Also includes with the group are black leather riding boots, which show wear and use, but they are in generally good polish and they are intact. The set also includes the 16th Lancer Regiment Chapka helmet, which bears multiple interior markings which include the date of 1913. The helmet exhibits signs of age and wear, with the front plate having a dark and uncleaned patina. The chain chin cord remains present, as does the horsehair plume. Overall the components of the group are in very good condition, and the uniform makes an impressive appearance.
