Description

A set of 5 award documents issued to Karl Lienhart who served with Infanterie- and later Grenadier Regiment 335 as part of the 205 Infanterie- and later Grenadierdivision. This division started the war in Belgium, Luxembourg and France in 1940. In 1942 it was moved to the eastern front fightingt in Newel, Düna and ended the war in Kurland. At some point (most probably after his third wound) he was transferred to theDivision z.b.V. 606.This was fighting on thewesternfront, namely Venlo, Deurne, Roermond, Heijthuijzen, Heel, Neer and was destroyed in November 1944. Interestingly, the Stab of the unit was then used as aAlarmeinheit.This was the unit Lienhard served in last and shows his new rank ofUnteroffizier. His unit was then sent back to the Oder at the eastern front under the 9th army. It fought at Küstrin, Potsdam, Spandau and Brandenburg. On 11 april 1945 the unit was renamed again in606.
