Description
German M36-style officer's tunic, a well-executed period-style remade example in a beautiful, rich field-grey gabardine wool. The tunic is complete with all insignia properly sewn on, featuring red Waffenfarbe for artillery and the rank of Leutnant. The original breast eagle is fully intact and originally sewn; however, the stitching around the swastika is missing, as it was once folded underneath the body of the eagle post-war to conceal it. The swastika has since simply been unfolded back into its correct position, and the eagle remains nicely in place despite the absent stitching in that specific area.Upon inspection, there is some minor wear visible: a small area of damage behind the buttons when the tunic is opened, as well as two small holes on the reverse of the right sleeve. These are not moth holes but rather minor storage or handling damage. Overall, the tunic remains in excellent, near unworn condition, with strong color, no fading, and all buttons intact. The buttons are the typical officer type with solid backs and are marked 'JFS,' a known maker, dated1943, which aligns well with the mid-war construction of the tunic. The interior does not have a tailor label, but the lining is well finished in typical officer quality. The dagger hanger is still present and marked DRGM. All in all, this is a very honest and attractive tunic, ideal for a mannequin display and perfectly suited for a combat or field officer setup.
